Breakfast was toasts, bread, snack biscuits etc. After a lot of thought we decided that since 
the refuges were far busier than we expected, it was going to be almost 
impossible to complete the Tour, so we would cut our walk short and get the bus back through 
the tunnel to Chamonix from Courmayeur.
We left the refuge at about 
8.15. It was sunny so we got some good views up and down the valley.
Today's walk was down the Val Veny and a climb up to a ridge walk 
with magnificent views of the Mont Blanc range.
As we approached 
Courmayeur we made a long descent, eventually arriving at the tourist 
information in the centre about 3pm.
We'd walked 16km, with only 470m of ascent but 1490m of descent.
We bought our bus tickets for the 
next day and then got some beer and wine from a supermarket. We had a 
bit of a walk up a hill in the hot sunshine to our hotel, the 
Agritourismo Le Reve, 110 euros cash for bed and breakfast.
We had nice 
long showers and a rest, then went out for dinner. After trying a couple
 of places we ended up in a pizza restaurant Pizzarta which was great, 
Scott had Calzone and Shirley had Quattro Stagione. We got a taxi back 
to the hotel, which was a bit of a rip off at 20 euros.
