Leaving Guignicourt today, we packed up and then bough fuel and provisions at the
local Carrefour. We started driving south about 11am.
We stopped for
lunch at a lay-by on the way, then arrived at our destination about
4.30pm. It's an Aire at the village of Savigny Le Sec. The facilities
are great, 4 euros for an overnight stay, with water and toilet
available.
We were the only ones there to start with, though 3 other
vans arrived during the day. It was very sunny and warm.
We went for a
walk into the village, and found the only establishment of any kind was a
pizza restaurant and bar that closed early on a Monday! No shops. We
made mince and potatoes for dinner.
