Summer Trip - Day 18 - Trévières

This morning we drove to Colleville-sur-Mer to visit the Overlord Museum, a large collection of artefacts from D-Day with the story of the build up to the invasion.

Then we went just along the road to the American cemetery, which has nearly 10,000 graves.

It was extremely hot today, too hot for going for a long walk. We went for a stroll and a paddle on Omaha Beach, and had our lunch in the shade.

Went next to Pointe du Hoc which is where the US Rangers scaled the cliffs at the beginning of D-Day to attack the German gun positions. There are loads of bomb craters among the emplacements. It was an interesting walk along the cliff top.

We went back to the campervan and had showers and relaxed for a bit. For dinner we used our new gas barbecue and had pork skewers and sausages with salad.
