In the morning we went back into town for yet more views of the harbour in a different light!
We then went for a walk along the promenade as far as the beach, then back through the park. It was already hot and sunny.
Then we left Honfleur and drove on to Pegasus Bridge and its WWII memorial and had a short walk around the area there.
This is the modern bridge:
And this is the one from WWII in the memorial garden:
We then drove along the coast road to a lunch spot at one of the seaside resorts. There are loads of D-Day memorials and museums along the way.
We stopped at a viewpoint to see the Mulberry harbour at Arromanche. Ripoff 6 euros for parking!
We then drove to the town of Bayeux and went to see the Bayeux Tapestry, which was interesting. We also visited the church. It was very hot after this so we had an ice cream.
In Bayeux we went to the supermarket for provisions. We then drove on to our campsite, the Sous Les Pommiers at the village of Trévières.
We had cold chicken tikka and salad for dinner.
