We drove and parked in a car park near Vorderbrand for our walk. First it was a long steep forestry track, which then became a rocky path to the summit of Hochfelln at 1674m.
At the top was a mountain hut which was closed, a cable car that goes up and down the other side, and a chapel.
Apparently with good visibility it's one of the best views in Germany...
We went down a different route, which was very steep to start with.
Further down we came to another hut which was open, so we went in for coffee and delicious warm, fresh cake.
Oscar managed to find and eat a large hunk of bread.
Eventually we got back to the van, Oscar was a bit wet and shivery so we wrapped him up well.
The walk was about 14km, with 1100m of ascent.
We drove to the town of Inzell and found our next site, a 6-place stellplatz just at someone's home and guest house. It was 21.50 euros including tourist tax but not electricity.
For dinner we heated up a frozen spaetzle, a German comfort-food dish of noodles with melted cheese and caramelised onions.
