Today it was time to start our slow journey northwards towards home. We'd decided to follow the Romantic Road for part of the journey, so after shopping at the nearby supermarket we drove to Landsberg am Lech. After parking we went for a walk around the town, seeing the river, old buildings and fountains.
We had a takeaway kebab with chips by the river, then returned to the van and tried to pick up the Romantic Road. This proved easier said than done as the signposting isn't great, so we ended up backtracking a bit.
We did drive through a few nice small towns, then stopped at a stellplatz in Friedburg. This is 10 euros for 24 hours, which works out quite well as it will allow us to get the train to Augsburg tomorrow, spend most of the day there, then come back here and drive on.
We had a walk into Friedburg old town and round the castle, then had a drink in the main square.
For dinner we had a barbecue of marinated pork, onions, pepper, courgette, kartoffelsalat and coleslaw, then watched the England football match.
