We left the house in the morning and headed for our P&O ferry from Hull to Rotterdam. We stopped at a service station on the M6 for a break on the way, then later at a Sainsburys for some food to have on the ferry.
Boarding started very early, about 3pm, even though we didn't leave till about 9. After going through check-in and getting our Animal Health Certificate for Oscar checked, we boarded about 2.5 hours before sailing time.
We had a dog-friendly cabin, just along from the dog exercise area. This wasn't as good as our previous overnight ferry, it only had a tiny square of astroturf - he wasn't very impressed.
He didn't do much there, but seemed to manage ok without. He was quite comfortable in the cabin and didn't mind being left.
We left on time and on the way out of the estuary had a view of Spurn Point and the sunset.
