The seven of us did a circular walk incorporating some of the coast today. First we drove to Porthallow and parked on the beach car park.
We started walking north up the coastal path, with good views back to Porthallow.
The path continued north, and was quite muddy at times.
After rounding Nare Point the path headed west towards Gillan Creek. After a while we stopped for some lunch on the beach.
We carried on up the creek towards Carne. Across the bay at St Anthony there was an annual cockle-collecting event going on.
After Carne we headed inland to complete the loop. This entailed following the right of way, sometimes across the middle of fields.
We had a heavy hail shower at one point, immediately followed by sunshine and a rainbow.
After the walk we went for a drink in the Three Tuns pub in nearby St Keverne.
Later we made dinner for the group - lentil and chilli bean pie with sweet potato topping, served with peas and carrots. This was followed by fresh fruit salad, meringue nests and cream.
