Ardnamurchan - Day 9

We walked from the car park, first across the causeway to Castle Tioram. It was closed due to falling masonry, but we walked round the outside.

Then we started round the path called the Silver Walk, which follows some of the coast of Loch Moidart.

As we walked round we saw some burnt scrub, it later became apparent there had been a huge wildfire.

We walked to a viewpoint overlooking the end of the loch, then turned inland and uphill. We saw some deer in the trees.

The landscape was completely burnt here. We passed an old settlement, then went downhill to some lochans where we had our lunch.

We then walked down to Acharacle then back to the campervan.

We drove on to Kinlochmoidart where we stopped for a look at St Finans church and a walk round the estate. There are lots of lovely trees there.

We decided to drive on to the Glenuig Inn, where you can stay for free in the car park as long as you eat in the inn. Toilets and showers are £3 per head though.

We had a smoked meat and cheese platter (local venison, duck, salmon and two types of cheese) and potato wedges. They had Cairngorm beer, which is good.
