We left Zaragoza and headed for Peñíscola on the Mediterranean coast. On the way we stopped at the village of Morella which sounded interesting. It is built on a hill and has a castle at the top.
We parked just outside the village and walked steeply up to the main street.
We went past the old monastery, then paid to go into the castle/fortress, which has a small bullring just inside.
We made our way right to the top, where there were great views of the village nestling below.
After returning to the van we drove on to Peñíscola, where we'd booked in to the Eden campsite at 64 euros for 2 nights.
We got a free loan of a Wi-Fi modem, which was pretty good and gave us unlimited internet while here.
It was a 20 minute stroll into the main bit of the town, so we went to the Tourist Information and got some leaflets of local hikes.
Peñíscola has a peninsula sticking out into the sea with a castle on top and the old town below.
We had a drink in a bar with settees in a sheltered area outside.
Later back at the van we had ratatouille for dinner.
