It was pretty windy today, so we decided on a fairly low-level walk. The big rocky mountain very near Dénia is called the Montgó Massif, and has a variety of walking routes. We first drove to the Pare Pere Hermitage and parked there. We had a brief look inside.
We then went up a zigzag path to about 200 metres, then along a fairly flat path to the end of the mountain. On the way there were good views to the coast.
At the end is the Gamell Cave, Scott went inside to have a look, it's quite deep and has some nice rock formations.
We then went back along the same path to the start.
We had time left, so we drove to the Dénia seafront car park, then walked to the castle and paid for entry.
It was mostly ruined, but we walked to the top for the views.
This is the Montgó Massif we'd been walking on earlier.
We left the castle and walked to the old town. There is a pedestrian tunnel going all the way under the castle rock.
We went to a bar in the old town for a drink or two, they gave us olives and fried fish as tapas.
Later back at the campsite we had chicken escalopes, potatoes, green beans, and carrots for dinner.
