Spain - Day 13

We left Castellon and drove south heading for Dénia on the Costa Blanca, our route taking us through the middle of Valencia. On the outskirts of Dénia we went to a huge Carrefour supermarket for provisions.

We headed for the Los Pinos campsite where we'd booked in for 4 nights for 88 euros including electric. They informed us that the first pitch we were directed to was only available for 3 nights, and that we'd have to move to a different one for the last night. This was fine, as some of the days we planned to drive off-site for walks anyway.

The pitches were quite tight for space, and a lots of the trees made manoeuvring quite difficult. We managed it ok though.

The facilities were all a bit dated, but we discovered that there were plenty of showers etc. in the various buildings on the site. It also had a bar. We discovered that a lot of the campers spend months here every winter, and a lot of the Brits get to know each other.

After setting up and having showers, we decided to walk along the promenade into town. It was quite a way, being a couple of miles to the start of the central bit. We walked past the port, where the ferries to the Balearic islands dock.

We got as far as the marina, with views of the castle, before heading into the streets of the old town where we had a drink.

After going into the Tourist Information for some walks leaflets, we went back to the site.

We had a couple of drinks at the bar where a British guitarist sang a few songs, then later had new potatoes with pesto, spinach and tuna for dinner.
