European Trip - Day 32

In contrast to our outward journey, we were off very quickly. Our van was one of the first to disembark, and there were no delays at passport control. We were on the road before 8am.

We drove to a Tesco superstore in Goole about half an hour away, and had a bacon roll for breakfast before doing some shopping for our last couple of days.

We were heading for Knaresborough Rugby Club, where there's a Camping and Caravanning Club Temporary Site where we were meeting Shirley's sister Jenny and her husband Gordon in their campervan. We got there about lunchtime.

It's a good setup, all the pitches are round the outside of the rugby park. There are toilets and showers available, though obviously no electric hookup. It cost £20 per night, that we'd paid in advance before we left the UK.

After sitting and chatting for a while we took a walk into Knaresborough. There was a market in the main square that we had a look around. The part of the town by the river and viaduct is very nice.

We walked steeply up to the castle where the view was even better.

Back in the town centre we went for a drink in a pub called Six Poor Folk, sitting outside in their courtyard.

Later back at the site Shirley made prawn Thai red curry for all of us.
