We took the train to Strasbourg today. We bought the tickets online before we left the camp site, 56 euros return for all 3 of us - you have to pay for dogs in France.
The train took about 50 minutes to get to Strasbourg central station. It was vey hot when we got there.
We first walked to the area called La Petite France, which is picturesque with waterways and old buildings. There's a bridge you can climb up to get a good view.
We had a walk round the streets and saw the impressive cathedral. It was very busy with tourists.
We bought some pastries and had a walk round the river bank where we stopped at the water's edge for our lunch.
On the way back to the centre we came a cross a wedding with the people dancing in the street.
We made our way back to the station and caught the train back to Rothau.
We bought some Alsace wine at the local shop to take home.
Later for dinner we had a barbecue of chicken skewers, courgette, pepper, new potatoes with coleslaw and beetroot salad.
