There was a small amount of rain in the morning. We walked up to the zoo station, and had our breakfast of pastries and coffee. We then caught the S-Bahn train to Potsdam.
Once there, we walked round the spectacular Sanssouci Park. This is an amazing park of palaces, fountains, lakes and gardens.
This was the Chinese House.
We came across a tree with very strange root formations.
The main Sanssouci Palace was amazing.
Once we'd seen all we wanted to, we caught the bus back into Potsdam then a train to Wannsee station.
From there we walked round the coast to the Peacock Island ferry stop, with views over the See all the way.
At the end we waited for the bus back to Berlin.
Bus 218 takes the scenic route through Grunewald forest, which was very lovely. Once back in the city we caught the underground back to the hotel.
We went out for dinner at the traditional German restaurant, Dicke Virtin. We had Weiner Schnitzel and Zweibelrostbraten (rump steak).
On the way home we had a drink at the Scleusenkrug beer garden.
