Canada - Scotland to Banff

We drove to Glasgow airport and left the car in an offsite car park. Got bus to terminal and checked in for flight (Air Transat). We had pre-booked a window seat.
The flight went smoothly, saw the ice covering Greenland on the way, and the millions of lakes in northern Canada.
We arrived at Calgary airport at 1.30pm. Picked up silver Toyota Matrix from Hertz, and drove the 130km to Banff, which took just over an hour. It was a bit overcast when we left, and raining heavily by the time we got to Banff. Had a very short walk and picked up some leaflets and maps from the tourist information centre.

We found our accommodation, the Holiday Lodge B&B. Our room was a cabin in the grounds.

We unpacked a bit, went for walk. Had a beer a St James Gate Olde Irish pub (American beer) and had a burger at Eddies.

Back home before 9.

  1. Hertz is a great car rental company, good choice! Renting a car certainly gives you freedom and flexibility when traveling. You can go to almost anywhere just make sure that you know your route before you start so you can have a safe and enjoyable journey.
