Northern Ireland - Day 9

We left Donegal and headed back over the border. We parked the van at the bottom of Cladagh Glen and walked in. There were heavy showers so we had all our waterproofs on. The glen was very nice, with waterfalls and some boardwalks.

At the top of the Glen is Marble Arch, a natural limestone formation that the river flows under.

And just beyond that is Marble Arch caves, open to the public but we didn't go in.

We sat outside the visitor centre for our lunch, then headed for the Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail. However we were very disappointed to find that dogs weren't allowed on it. We couldn't understand why, but had to give it a miss.

We did a circular walk through a nature reserve and then back down the gorge.

Since we finished earlier that we anticipated, we drove on to Ely Lodge Forest car park at the side of Lough Erne near Enniskillen. This was right on the side of the lake and was to be our camping spot for the night.

We went for a short walk in the woods, then had root vegetable curry and naan bread for dinner.
