We walked round Belfast today. First we caught the bus into the city centre, getting off at the City Hall.
We walked the short distance to the docks area, where first we found an art installation that played sounds when you walked inside it.
We then walked the "Maritime Mile" and saw all the cranes, dry docks and ships that were there. We passed the Titanic museum, but didn't go in (not dog friendly).
At the end we caught another bus back to the centre, and walked to find the Europa Hotel, which Shirley had stayed in before. Apparently the most bombed hotel during the troubles.
Just across the road is the famous pub the Crown Liquor Saloon. We went in for a couple of pints of Guinness. They have little wooden booths for the tables, apparently so that ladies could drink there without being observed.
We had a snack from Greggs for lunch, then walked over to the Falls Road / Shankill Road areas to see the murals and walls there. The walls and fences are very much still in existence, and the gates are still closed overnight.
We visited the Republican museum.
There's yet more stuff over on the Unionist Shankill Road area.
We made our way to the Cathedral Quarter, and had a pint in the Thirsty Goat.
We caught the bus back to the site in Dundonald, and later had prawn Thai red curry for dinner.
