France - Day 8

We left Gourdon in the morning, and visited another aire not too far away for a toilet stop. We then drove to the touristy village of Beynac and parked in the main car park up the hill.

We walked down to the bank of the Dordogne river.

We then went on a circular walk through the surrounding hamlets, meadows and forests. At one point we passed a guinea pig enclosure next to a house.

Once back at the car park we left Oscar in the van and climbed to the highest point in Beynac village, with good views over the Dordogne.

We went down to the other side of the village then back along the promenade next to the river.

We then drove to the municipal camp site at Ceynac, which is below the hilltop village of Domme. It's a very quiet site.

We had barbecued burgers for dinner, with coleslaw and beetroot salad.

Later during the night there was more thunder and lightning and heavy rain.
