Homeless Trip - Day 7

We left Mabie and drove further west along the Solway Coast, stopping to have our breakfast at Southerness. We had a short walk to the lighthouse there.

It started off cloudy and breezy today, but got much better later. We chose a walk from our walking book in the little village of Wigtown, which is a nice place.

We parked at the harbour and walked along an old railway track, then back along roads into the village. It specialises in being a Book Town, there are loads of second hand bookshops.

The biggest is simply called The Book Shop and is an amazing warren of rooms.

The walk then went back to the coast, where there's a Martyr's Post whe two suspected witches were tied and drowned by the tide.

We then drove on to our camp site, the Sands of Luce. There we picked a nice spot with a sea view. We went for a walk along the beach and into the village of Sandhead.

It was very sunny by now, so we put up our new windbreak and had a barbecue of burgers, new potatoes and vegetables.
