We left Glen Trool and headed for the Lake District, stopping at Threave House on the way. We had a walk round the nice gardens.
An old work friend of Scott's runs a cafe in Dumfries called Mrs Greens, and we went for lunch there. Shirley had baked potato with cheese and salad, and Scott had a ciabatta with bacon, mozzarella and tomato. Both were excellent.
We then got back on the road and headed for Keswick, where we'd booked three nights at the Derwentwater Camping and Caravanning Club Site. The weather by now was very sunny. We set up on our pitch and had showers etc.
We went for a walk down to the lakeside.
We arranged to meet Barry and Phil at the Wainwright pub in town, so headed there at about 6. After meeting up we went to see if we could get in to the Dog and Gun for some of their famous goulash, but it was completely full. We stayed in the Wainwright where Shirley had a nice ribeye steak and Scott had a burger.
After dinner we went for a drink at the Dog and Gun.
