We moved the campervan to Callendar Park where we had our breakfast and went for a short walk. We then went up to mum and dad's house.

They took us out to lunch at Falkirk Golf Club, then for a walk in Bantaskine estate.

Later for dinner we had spaghetti bolognese.

Homeless Trip - Day 15

Shirley had an appointment at the physiotherapist in Edinburgh this morning, so we left the site and drove to the Slateford Medical Centre.

After the appointment we drove to Falkirk, where we bought provisions at Tesco at the retail park. We then parked in the car park at the Helix Park.

We went for a walk, round the lake then down an old railway track. Then we went over to the Kelpies.

We walked down to the start of the Forth and Clyde canal, where it joins the River Carron. We were meeting Grant for something to eat, so we went back to the retail park and Pizza Hut.

Later we spent the night at the Helix car park.

Homeless Trip - Day 14

We left the site in the morning and drove to the car park for Ben A'an in the Trossachs. It was cloudier today but still fine and warm. We walked up the steep path through an area of felled trees.

At the top we had good views of Loch Katrine.

After descending we drove on to Callander and had a stroll and a coffee in the Atrium. We later went to our campsite, Linwater Caravan Park just outside East Calder.

For dinner we had pork and couscous.

Homeless Trip - Day 13

We walked from the site on the morning, down the West Highland Way which was just outside.

We then headed off east up Conic Hill. It was steep going and the weather was hot and sunny.

Near the top we joined the WHW again, it was pretty busy. From the summit the views were amazing.

There was a bride and groom getting photographed.

We descended down to Balmaha, and caught the little ferry across to the island of Inchcailloch.

There we had our lunch on the beach then walked to the summit of the island with great views.

Then down to the beach at the other side which was very busy.

We completed the circumference, seeing an old burial ground.

Then we caught the ferry back. We had a drink at the Oak Tree then followed the WHW back to site.

For dinner we had a barbecue, pork and vegetables, corn cobs and new potatoes.

We had a stroll to the site's beach later.

Homeless Trip - Day 12

We drove back down into Largs and parked by the sea. We walked along to the pier and back then had our breakfast in the van.

We decided to take the bikes on the ferry to Great Cumbrae. It was £3.30 for the round trip, and it was quite busy, being a Bank Holiday Monday with good weather.

First we cycled a few miles south to Millport and had a stroll round the town and pier.

We saw on a map there was an inner circle road we could go on, so we started that and on the way stopped at the Cathedral of the Isles, which is the smallest in Europe.

There was a labyrinth in the grounds.

We then cycled to the viewpoint at the Glaid Stone, the highest point on the island. We had our lunch there.

We then went back down to Millport and had an ice cream. After this we completed our cycle round the island, back to the ferry.

We had decided to go north to Loch Lomond, so we drove up the coast, stopping in Greenock for some provisions.

The site we went to was Marrochy Bay near Balmaha on the east side of the loch. We have a nice grass pitch with good views.

We sat outside for a bit in the sunshine, though there were a few midges around. For dinner we had pasta and sauce with sausage.

Homeless Trip - Day 11

We left Culzean Castle in the morning and drove a few miles north to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway. We looked round the museum then walked through the gardens to the Brig O Doon.

It was lovely and sunny. We then went to the Auld Kirk then along a sculpture walk.

Finally we looked round the cottage where Burns was born.

We bought some provisions then drove on north to Largs. It was very busy there so we didn't stop, but drove up into the hills to a wild camping spot by a reservoir.

We went for a short walk up a hillside, then just stayed in and read for a bit. It was quite windy. For dinner we had fish fingers and new potatoes.

Homeless Trip - Day 10

We visited Culzean Castle today. We walked in from the campsite, it was about a mile. There was a deer park with deer, lamas and Highland cattle.

We went for a guided tour round the castle at 11, it was very interesting.

The armory has hundreds of flintlock pistols and rifles.

After this we had our lunch in the sunshine.

We then walked through the lovely grounds, to Swan Pond. There was a play area there, with a wooden walkway thing which we had a go on, I think it was meant for children really.

We walked through the woods for a bit, then had a cake at the café. We walked down to the beach with views of the castle.

We then walked back to the campervan. For dinner we had new potatoes, tuna, pesto and green beans. There was another spectacular sunset.
