Spain - Day 14

We went for a walk from the site today. First south along the promenade, then a steep climb up to a lookout tower.

The walk then took us across a high plateau to the next town, Javea. We could see abandoned buildings on the other side of a gorge.

The first thing we reached in Javea (Xàbia) was a row of old windmills on the skyline. It was only at this point we realised we'd been here before - we'd walked to them from a different direction on our Spanish holiday in 2020.

From there we walked out along then peninsula above Javea, to the Cap de Sant Antoni lighthouse.

We went down into Javea, along the seafront a bit, then out of town back towards the windmills.

It was very hot at this point with no wind, and the climb up to the windmills was steep.

From the top we walked back over the plateau, this time by a slightly different route that took us through the abandoned unfinished hotel complex we'd looked across to earlier.

We soon arrived back at the campervan. Later for dinner we had pasta with bacon, spinach, pesto and cherry tomatoes.
