Shropshire - Day 4

We were moving on today, so packed up and left the site. We stopped in Church Stretton to have a look at the market, but it wasn't very big.

We decided to drive to Tesco in Ludlow for provisions. After this we parked at Whitcliffe Common and went for a short walk then had our lunch.

We then drove to our friends Pauline and Stuart's house, where we are staying for the next 3 days. A bunch of other friends from Bristol are here too. We're sleeping in the campervan on the drive, the others are variously sleeping in bedrooms or in tents in their large garden.

Most of us went for a short local walk.

The house doesn't have mains water but is supplied from a bore hole on the adjacent farm. Unfortunately there was an issue with this, and for the first part of the weekend we had no running water.

Pauline had made us all lentil shepherd's pie for dinner, which was great.

Later we all attended the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon at the top of a local hill. From there we could see 5 or 6 other beacons on the skyline.
