We packed up and left the site to drive south into Germany. It was mostly on motorway. We stopped at Cologne and parked across the river from the city centre.
It was hot and busy with tourists. We had a walk around then a kebab for lunch.
One of the bridges is famous for having thousands of love padlocks on it.
We drove on to Koblenz and booked into our first campsite on the Mosel river, Gülser Moselbogen. We paid for a three night stay.
After setting up we went down to the nearby "beach" on the river, and sat with a beer for a while.
Since we'd had a big lunch we didn't need much for dinner. We had a cheese sandwich.
