Dunbar and Norfolk - Day 9

We drove to Brancaster on the coast and parked at the beach car park. Oscar had a run about in the foamy surf. It was a bit damp and chilly.

We walked on some flood defences round tidal salt marshes, there were a few birds there but not a huge number.

Once away from the coast we went up some lanes with high hedges and lots of wild flowers.

We walked round an old chalk pit, which had some interesting tree fungus.

During the walk Oscar ran off into a field, chasing a deer we think. We couldn't actually find him for some time, it turned out he'd gone into the next field. This was full of broad beans which were well above his head height and he was completely lost. Fortunately we heard him barking and managed to coax him out.

We sat outside the church at Brancaster village green for lunch.

We then walked back along the coastal path to the campervan.

By then the tide was far out and the beach was huge.

We had ratatouille for dinner later.
