Today we went for another walk in the El Valle and Carrascoy Regional Park just south of Murcia. This time we parked further west, in a car park just beside the motorway that cuts it in half.
The path was partly on a river bed, which actually had some water in it. And some tadpoles.
It then went on forest tracks, becoming steeper as it went up to a ruined castle which had spectacular views over the city.
We then went on a long circular route, some on high forest tracks before descending a dry river bed with some interesting rock formations.
As we neared the finish we got back to the original river, which had some interesting old irrigation channels cut into it.
The walk was just over 17km in total.
On the way home we had to spend a bit of time finding a supermarket open on a Sunday. Eventually we got one not far from the apartment, and we had pizza for dinner.
