England and Wales - Day 16

We walked from the site through the aerodrome to the coastal path on the north side of St Annes Head.

We then went south round the peninsula, past the coastguard station and lighthouse.

There were spectacular rock formations at Cobbler's Hole.

A bit further round we came across the substantial Blockhouse Fort, one of a few that were built in the area in the Napoleonic Wars to guard against the French.

We stopped at a beach for lunch.

We went all the way round to Dale village, where we came across a bunch of sculptures.

Beyond Dale we went over marshland in the estuary, which has a bridge only accessible at low tide.

We went back to the van, having pizza and garlic bread for dinner later.
