Same 7.30am early breakfast today, then off in the minibus to start our walk at the Vihren hut. This was to the Banderishki Lakes Cirque, and over the Todorina Porta.
Margaret, who had been with us on the first day's walk, had decided to leave the tour. She had been struggling a bit with asthma.
We walked over meadows and streams, and up past many glacial lakes.
At the pass we met a group of Israeli walkers.
Once we started descending we stopped at a lake for lunch.
After lunch we continued down, reaching the valley bottom where there were grassy meadows through virgin coniferous forests.
Eventually we arrived at the Demyanitsa Hut where we stopped for a rest. There was an ingenious water-powered washing machine there.
After this we still had 9km to walk along a track next to the Demyanitsa, which became a little tedious, before we met the mini bus which had been driven round by a different Traventuria driver.
Later that evening we went out for dinner at a local restaurant in Bansko, mainly chicken dishes with onion, with the Bulgarian Shopska salad.
