Algarve - Day 2

After breakfast we walked into Faro, first going to the market.

Then we went to Igreja do Carmo church, with its gruesome chapel of bones.

After this we walked at the harbour side, where we got a first look at the Ria Formosa, the lagoon protected by sandy islands that goes right up the coast.

We saw some large birds, storks plus some others.

We walked round to the old town, with its city walls. We visited the cathedral and climbed the bell tower.

We then walked to the north of the town to an old hermitage, but it was closed for renovations.

Then we went down to the old salt lagoons, and walked along the paths between them.

We made our way back through the city via a cemetery, then went to Lidl for provisions.

Back at the apartment we had vegetables and pasta for dinner.
