Rhodes - Day 7

Another sunny day today. Cereal for breakfast again. We drove to the far south of the island, Prassonisi. There's a beach leading out to a peninsula where the Aegean and the Mediterranean seas meet. Lots of wind surfers and kite surfers go there, especially to the Aegean (west) side.

We walked across beach and up the hill on the peninsula. Good views back to the beach, and lots of stone cairns at the top.

We walked right to the end of the peninsula where there is a lighthouse. Lots of goats roaming there, and we saw a bird soaring around which might be a honey buzzard, but not sure.

We then walked back to the car, the kite surfers were out in force at the beach now.

We wanted to have a bit of a sunbathe but it was too windy there, so we drove up the coast a few miles and stopped at a likely spot. We had a paddle and a bit of a lie down, but only stayed for an hour or so

We then went to Plimiri Beach fish restaurant, which had been recommended to us, for lunch. We had Greek salad, fried fish plate, sea bream and chips.

Outside they had octopuses hanging out to dry, apparently this makes them nice and tender.

After lunch we drove back to Pefkos, and went on to Lee beach for a further sunbathe and paddle. We didn't see any fish there.

Back to the apartment for showers, then out to Oasis for dinner. Scott had Dublin burger (cheese, onion rings, bacon etc.) and Shirley had cheeseburger.

On walking home we saw there was more entertainment at Pefki Islands resort, a kind of Four Tenors singing group, so we stopped for a last drink.
