Rhodes - Day 1

We left the house at about 6.45am and drove to our prebooked car park in Paisley where we left the car and got a bus transfer to Glasgow airport.

The flight to Rhodes left 25 minutes late and landed about 5.15pm (2 hours ahead of UK time). We'd hired a car from Thrifty, the collection went smoothly and we got our white Hyundai i10.

We drove south to Pefkos, and found our accommodation, Courtyard Studios, about 7pm.

The apartment was on the first floor, with access to a roof terrace and with a table and chairs outside the door. Furniture etc. is pretty basic but fine for our needs. Internet access is via a wired connection but I knew this in advance and had brought a mini router, which worked well for our phones and iPad.

We unpacked and went to the supermarket to buy a few things. After a refreshing beer (Mythos) in the apartment we walked into town via the beach, which was only about 50 metres away. It was starting to get dark by then.

We walked up the beach road and stopped at a bar called The Pub for a drink, then went for dinner at Alexandras.

Shirley had chicken gyros and Scott had pork skewer, which was all fine. After dinner we went for a last drink at Pefkos By Night. The town and the bars were all fairly quiet, and it was obvious that more or less all the clientèle are British.
