Thialkopf

It's cloudy in morning, and the forecast is for rain later. Breakfast is at 8.00am, then we leave at 8.45 on Ladis cable car, which is literally yards from the hotel. Then we get 2nd cable car to 2550m high at the Fisser Joch station.

We walk down the next valley, stopping at the Zirbenhutte for a snack - this has pigs, hens, ponies, donkeys, rabbits and sheep outside.

We then start to walk up the other side of the valley. It starts raining fairly heavily. We get up to a coll, but decide not to go for summit of Thialkopf because of the time and the weather.

The rain brings out loads of salamanders and blue beetles, and we also see a slow worm.

We finish up at bar in Hochgallmigg, where we have a beer, then get the minibus back to Ladis,

We go to the supermarket for more provisions, then hang up our wet stuff to dry out.

The main courses at dinner tonight are venison ragout and fried duck with baked noodles.
