We left the Salzburg site and tried to get some groceries. We'd found out that it was the Corpus Christi public holiday in Austria and all the supermarkets were closed. However Google maps claimed that shops in Germany were open and we were only a couple of miles from the border.
However we discovered that Google was wrong, and all the German ones were closed too. It turns out that this part of Germany respects the holiday too. With no luck shopping we just had to get by on what we had in the cupboards.
We drove along the Salzach valley about 60 miles and stopped for a short walk and lunch at the village of Taxenbach. We walked up the hillside in the sunshine, there was no shade so it was a bit too warm to go very far. We did find a nice cherry tree though.
We drove on to our next site, Camping Andrelwirt in the village of Worth. To check in we had to go to the reception desk in the adjoining guest house. The manager there was extremely busy and harassed, getting more so after we found the pitch number he gave us was already occupied. We did find another one ourselves that turned out to be very nice.
It is 43 euros per night, including showers, EHU and tourist taxes. I think they forgot to charge for Oscar though.
We went for a stroll round the tiny village.
For dinner we had our "emergency" meal of tuna pasta.
