July trip day 4 - Alnwick

After breakfast we drove to Embleton and parked at Dunstanburgh Castle golf course. It was dull and misty when we started our walk, from Embleton Bay to Low Newton-by-the-Sea.

It remained cloudy with some spots of rain as we walked back via the nature reserve, where we saw swans, ducks and herons from the hide.

As Amber was getting tired we left her in the van and walked to Dunstanburgh Castle.

We drove back via Alnmouth, where we had a short walk on the beach then a drink at the Red Lion, overlooking the Aln estuary.

We then went to Alnwick castle, which featured in the Harry Potter films as Hogwarts.

After this we went back to the site. By this time it was raining heavily so we sat in and read books. It cleared at about 7 and Scott cycled into Alnwick for a Chinese takeaway.
