Arran - Day 5

We packed up and left the site, and drove to the south of the island at the tiny village of Kildonan. We parked and went for a short walk on the beach. There were loads of seals basking.

We drove on to Blackwaterfoot on the west side of Arran, and went for a circular walk round a volcanic outcrop called the Doon.

We carried on round the circumference of Arran, and got to Lochranza in the north, where we'd booked into the camp site there. From the owner we discovered that the only hotel in the village had closed down, so there were almost no facilities. Only a sandwich shop which closed at 4.

After setting up we went for a walk down to the ferry terminal, on the way passing a herd of red deer and Lochranza castle.

We walked back to the van, and later had tuna pasta for dinner.
