We left the house and drove to Ardrossan on the west coast to catch the 12.30 ferry to Brodick on Arran. We were a bit early so we went for a stroll around the harbour.
The ferry left on time. We took Oscar with us on deck, and also had a bacon roll in the dog-friendly bit of the café.
After disembarking we drove straight to the camp site in Lamlash, which was only about 5 miles south. It is Middletons Camping, just a short walk from the village.
After setting up we decided to go for a walk. Scott's map had a circular path on it, but after hunting around a bit we decided it must be out of date so gave up and returned to the site.
Just before we got there we chatted to a local woman who recommended another walk, so we went to do that instead. It was at the Dyemills car park, up one side of a burn to a duck pond and then down the other side, it was a nice walk.
Later we had pasta with cream cheese, bacon and mushrooms.
