We drove a few miles north west and parked in Reasty Bank Car Park. We then did a circular walk round Broxa forest. It had good views on the outward section but wasn't really very exciting otherwise.
It was getting very sunny, and the sight of an ice cream stall in the car park was welcome.
After this we decided to got to Whitby for a wander round. We parked in the car park near the Abbey, and walked into town via the famous staircase with 199 steps.
Down in the town we wandered through the cobbled streets and then out to the pier. It was very busy with tourists.
After climbing back up the steps and looking at the churchyard we headed back to the site.
Later for dinner we had root vegetable curry with naan bread.
