We went for a circular walk straight from the site today.
First through the Scalby suburbs then along the banks of a man-made drainage channel that leads to the Forge Valley. Shirley caught sight of a kingfisher flying over the water.
We then walked on the paths in Forge Valley Woods and Raincliffe Forest. We saw some interesting petrified streams.
We had our lunch at Throxenby Mere, then made our way back to the site. We passed a funny hedge.
It was quite a long walk and Oscar was pretty tired afterwards.
Later we had pasta with goats cheese and spring onions.
