We drove up into the forest levels and started a walk, first down to some waterfalls and then up past some farmsteads and terraces.
There was also a kind of holiday camp thing, though empty at the moment.
There was a possibility of walking through a 500m tunnel to the other side of a pass but we decided against it as most of the way through would be walking in a few inches of water.
So we drove round to El Cedro, a tiny settlement in the forest. It's the focal point of a lot of the higher level walks on the island, so was quite busy with (mostly German) walkers. We had our lunch at the picnic area.
In need of some warmth, we drove to the coast, going to the fishing village of Puerto Santiago. We walked round the harbour and watched a fishing boat land a load of tuna fish.
Further round the coast we had a drink at a bar.
Later, after driving home, we went for a stroll in San Sebastián as Shirley hadn't seen the park, church etc.
We had a drink at a bar near the bus station, which even served us decent free tapas.
Later for dinner we had pasta bolognese.
