Today we first walked down to the High Street in Aviemore to the bus stop, to get the 9.20 bus to Nethy Bridge. It was about 20 minutes late and we almost gave up on it. However it took us there, and we started our walk back to Aviemore through the Ryvoan Pass.
To start with it was through lovely ancient Scots Pine forest. We saw one red squirrel, briefly.
Later it opened up as we headed towards Ryvoan Bothy.
We then went down to the lovely An Lochan Uaine, the Green Lochan, where we had our lunch.
We carried on down the path, past Glenmore Lodge, to the road at the other side. We had a bit of time before the bus so we walked to the edge of Loch Morlich. It had some ice lapping on the shore.
We caught the bus back down to Aviemore and went back to the cabin.
As we crossed the bridge above the site we could see how close our cabin is to the railway track.
We lit the log fire, Oscar liked sleeping in front of it.
Later for dinner we had pizza and garlic flatbread.
