Tenerife - Day 1

We took a taxi from Linlithgow to Edinburgh airport, it cost £25. We had a pint at Wetherspoons, then the Ryanair flight to Tenerife took off pretty much on time.

On landing we picked up our hire car from Sixt, a red Peugeot 208. As we left the brakes squeaked a bit.

We drove to La Laguna in the north of the island. It's a very bad town to drive in though, it took a while to navigate round the one way systems to find the apartment. The torrential rain didn't help.

We found it and waited in the car till the rain eased. We met our host Jonathan and he let us in. We found the roof had leaked in a couple of places. He was most apologetic and got some towels to mop it up.

Later we walked down to the nearest supermarket for some provisions. We had a frozen chicken stir fry thing with vegetables - the apartment only had very basic cooking equipment.
