Summer Trip - Day 44 - Livarot

We walked up to a cafe for breakfast this morning, croissants, pan-au-chocolat and coffee.

Then we walked through the park to Fougères Chateau.

We got audio guides and walked round it all. It was pretty interesting and looked good in the sunshine.

We then left the Aire and drove east through the Breton and Norman countryside. Very green, lots of apple orchards and maize fields. And many characteristically straight French roads.

We stopped at a large supermarket for provisions and some wine to take home. We then went to the village of Camembert and visited its museum, the Maison du Camembert.

This was followed by a tasting of three types of Camembert.

We then drove to the village of Livarot and found its campsite. We set up then went for a walk round the village.

Later for dinner we had a barbecue, sausages and burgers with vegetables and coleslaw.
