Summer Trip - Day 45 - Portsmouth

We left the site and drove north, stopping at a big Leclerc hypermarket for more wine and some Calvados to take home.

We then drove on and parked next to Le Havre beach. It was raining a bit. We walked down the promenade and stopped for lunch at a beach restaurant, hot dog and omlette, with chips.

We walked through the city a bit, there's lots made of concrete as it was mostly destroyed in the war. It had some charm though, and was interesting because it was different from anywhere else we'd been, a lot more open spaces.

We found a boulangerie and bought quiches for later. We drove to the ferry port, and after waiting to board it left pretty much on time at 5pm.

It was interesting to watch the Pilot disembark onto his boat after we left the harbour.

We arrived at Portsmouth about 9.30 and drove straight to the Whale Island Way car park two minutes away and spent the night there.
