North Wales - Day 1

We left the house at about 10.30am and drove south. It was a long drive, but very good as no traffic incidents at all. We had lunch at Southwaite services.

We arrived at Blaenau Ffestiniog just after 5pm, and first had a look at one of the B&Bs that Shirley used to own and run in the late 80s.

After this we parked at the station car park. The narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway steam train was just about to leave so we watched that.

We then had a walk round town, also looking at the other B&B that Shirley had.

We had a pint in the Y Meirion, then drove north a few miles, and parked in the Dolwydellan Castle car park, our wild camping spot for the night.

For dinner we had Thai green pork curry.
