Glen Clova and Montrose - Day 5

In the morning we packed up and left the site by about 10am. We drove to the other side of the Montrose Basin where there are various paths linking bird hides.

It wasn't the best time of year for birdwatching, but we still saw a few. It's a very picturesque area.

There were lots of mute swans.

Goldeneye ducks.

And wigeon.

The hide had some huge binoculars to borrow.

We then drove round to the visitor centre to have our lunch and visited one further hide. While we were there an RSPB guide pointed out the call of the first chiffchaff he'd heard this season.

After that we drove back home.
