Easter Trip - Day 10
We left the site and drove up to the Symonds Yat Rock car park. First we went to the viewpoint at the rock, with good views to the River Wye.
We then followed the Highmeadow Trail which was 11 miles. It was a lovely walk through the Forest of Dean. We lost the track for a while, making it a bit longer.
We had lunch in Staunton, by a hexagonal sheep pen.
We got a good view at Buck Stone.
We later passed the Suck Stone, one of the largest individual boulders in the country.
Back down at the River Wye we went across a foot bridge, then up to a cave.
The bluebells were lovely.
Back down the other side we caught a hand-pulled ferry. We had to wait a while, one of the other passengers swam across to see where the ferryman was!
After a steep climb back to the car park we bought an ice cream, then started the drive towards home.
We stopped again at Loynton Moss and had pasta and sauce for dinner.

Easter Trip - Day 9
We packed up and left Cornwall, stopping to shop at Sainsburys in Weston Super Mare. We drove on and parked at Tintern Abbey.
We went for a walk, first up river to Brockweir then up through the forest to Devil's Pulpit.
Back down we had a drink at the Anchor Inn since they refunded the parking charge :-) We then chose a camp site further up the river near Symonds Yat, the Elmsdale. It was a nice spot by a stream.
For dinner we had pork steak, fried potatoes and vegetables.

Easter Trip - Day 7
Today's walk was south down the coast first. We walked past old quarries to Port William, where we were to have dinner later.
From there it was up a steep slope and on a further couple of miles.
Then we turned inland and walked to Delabole. We saw the quarry there, one of the deepest holes in Europe, and we had lunch there.
Then we headed back towards Tintagel, over fields then through a nature reserve.
At Tintagel some of us went for a drink at the king Arthur's pub.
We had arranged taxis to dinner as it was a few miles away, and that worked very well. Scott had rack of ribs and Shirley had a burger.

Easter Trip - Day 3
We went to Blists Hill Victorian Town museum for opening time at 10am. This was very interesting, we saw all the exhibits like the bank, sweet shop, chemist, foundry, school etc. Many had guides dressed up in the style of the time.
They also had a number of houses and cottages in Victorian style.
We walked along the canal to the Hay Inclined Plane which took carriages up from and down to the River Severn.
Next was a pig talk!
We had a pint in the pub, the New Inn.
After this we drove into Telford for fuel, then on to Much Wenlock. We walked round the town first, it has a historic centre with old buildings.
We went for a pint in the George and Dragon then returned to the site and had dinner, tuna and tomato pasta.
