We packed up and left Boulogne in the morning, and drove up the
coast. We stopped at Cap Gris-Nez for a walk. There were good views of
the Dover coast and the ships in the channel.
We had lunch on the rocks. We then went on to Calais, parking by the quayside. We walked round the town, the went into the town hall and paid to go up the belfry. There were great views from the top.
We went past Calais lighthouse.
We then drive further on, were amazed by the amount of fencing and barbed wire round the Calais ferry port. We saw the Jungle camp just outside the fencing.
We got to the Gravelines Aire about 4.30, found a place and paid for our ticket, 7 euros by credit card.
Later we went out for something to eat, but found that a lot of places don't open for food on a Monday. After having a drink in a bar we got a takeaway, burger and kebab crepe and chips. Then an early night because we had a very early ferry in the morning.
