Summer Trip - Day 43 - Birchington-On-Sea

Up at 3.30am to go to Dunkirk to catch the ferry back to Dover. It was heavy rain. We got on the ferry without any issues, but visibility was very poor. Didn't see Dover until we were almost there.

We then drove north to Canterbury and parked in a central car park. First thing we had a full English breakfast at the Saffron cafe. We had a walk through the town - we didn't go into the cathedral as it was £12 and we didn't have the time to justify it.

We went to St Martins priory, the oldest church in use in England.

We actually got the best view of the cathedral from there.

Then we drove to the coast, stopping for supplies on the way. We went to Hawk Place Certified Site near Birchington, paying £32 cash for 2 nights including hookup.

After resting for a bit and showering, we went for a walk along the coast path to Birchington. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach.

We went for a pint at the Minnis Bay Cafe, then walked back. For dinner we had cheese toasties.
