Summer Trip - Day 44 - Birchington-On-Sea

Today we went for a cycle run west along the seafront, the Viking Way. The first thing we came to was Reculver Tower.

Next was Herne Bay, where we went for a walk on the pier and to the High Street.

Finally we got to Whitstable, where we stopped for lunch. Whitstable is famous for its oysters and seafood.

There are loads of beach huts on this coast, at times 4 rows deep.

The beaches have been filled with pebbles as a defence against erosion.

On the way back we stopped at Herne Bay for an ice cream. It had started off breezy and cloudy, but got very sunny later.

 Dinner was pasta and vegetables.
